Vores bønner og tanker er med de berørte og deres pårørende ♥️The Salvation Army Leger des Heils is providing clothing and spiritual support as flooding in the Netherlands causes thousands to evacuate.
At present, severe flooding affecting Limburg in the southern part of the Netherlands is causing significant problems. In several places people are being evacuated and authorities have ordered emergency ordinances.
Also some Salvation Army locations are flooded. Fortunately, this has had no consequences on our clients or employees. On Thursday evening a few clients were evacuated from flooded areas in Maastricht. They have found refuge at family or friends, or in one of the designated sports halls. Salvation Army volunteers are offering spiritual assistance at these halls and, from the corps in Treebeek, provided people with cloting.
There is a close contact with the authorities in the region and assistance has been offered. At this moment further help is not required, but the situation is still very delicate the coming hours. In Venlo, northern Limburg, 10,000 people are being evacuated and the hospital is being cleared.
